Bringing Back My 90's Style

Ok so i've had a lot of comments from my mum over my recent purchases mainly "oh you used to have one just like that when you were little" OR "Oh my god that is just like something I owned".

This inspired me to look at baby photos and I realised that she is right! Everything she dressed me in as a toddler, or I dressed myself in when I fancied looking more normal, was coming back into the shops and has been for the past year or so... So I thought i'd show you just what I mean in case any of you are questioning me! (Be prepared for cuteness overload haha)

So here is me... and yes that is my parents lovely sofa which I seem to match!
And here is my first outfit recreation...
Trousers - Topshop
Sweatshirt - Topshop
Shoes - Topshop
Socks - Topshop

This baby is my little brother who I seem to be squashing but getting a cute photo of the two of us was more important!
My collar underneath my jumper has hit the high street this past year whether its a one top or you are layering to create the look, I love it!
Outfit Number 2
Top - French Connection
Trousers - Zara

OK So you have hopefully noticed this is not me but my friend Nathan but I just had to mention dungarees

Girly Version of Nathans amazing look
Pink Dungarees - River Island
Leather Dungarees - Topshop
T-shirt - H&M
Shoes - Topshop

Have you noticed i'm not smiling or enjoying any of these photos being taken! My mums all about 'natural' looks!
Definitely my favourite denim dress!
Dress - Topshop

And Finally....

Another quick natural shot from my mother!

Shirt - Topshop
Sunglasses - Marc by Marc Jacobs
So there you have it I, along with a little input from my mother, have been experimenting since 93 (Finally explaining my blog name!) And now my wardrobe has come in full circle and is back.... in my wardrobe!

Let me know if there is anything you have bought that's making an appearance for the second time round!

My Evening Dress Choice

Ok so following on from my Evening Dress Stress blog I thought i'd share my photos of my final decision!

In the end I went for something simple, a full length, black, velvet, backless dress! As soon as I saw it in the Rhianna for River Island collection I knew straight away that it was the one I wanted!

I absolutely loved my dress and didn't feel over dressed at all as there was such a wide mix of outfits. Some people were in short dresses and big heels while others were in more casual dresses and shoe boots and then there were a group of people in long dresses.

I had such an amazing night, although I was extremely nervous about not knowing anyone and meeting all of Alexs work colleagues, once I had a few glasses of bubbly in me I felt much better!

You were given play money to play poker, roulette or black jack and you know what they say about beginners luck... I spent about an hour winning every hand on black jack it was great fun! They also had a photo booth with funny props!!

Anyway after all the stress I found my perfect dress!

Rihanna For River Island

So Rihanna has launched her 3rd collection for River Island and to be honest I am quite disappointed!
I thought a lot of her items from the previous two were pretty sophisticated and I could of seen myself wearing a few of the items such as these below which are from her autumn winter and spring summer collection!

With these items and a lot of others from the two collections I felt like any girl could buy them and wear them, they didn't have to be particularly into fashion. She had put her on edge on it while thinking of her target audience and how to keep it as wide as possible and please them. I like wearing things that are a bit different sometimes but for me her new collection is just a bit to out there to walk around Scotland wearing it!

She has gone camouflage crazy, now I have a faded camouflage jacket from Topshop that I bought last winter. I absolutely love it but I think a jacket is a bit different tho these items....

Also she has G4Life on the majority of the pieces, we don't all want to be gangstas, do we?

This is my first blog where I have really expressed a dislike for something but I just feel like firstly I thought Rihanna had better style than this and secondly I can't see anyone walking down the street in leather knee high camouflage boots, can you?

To be honest I do like one or two pieces i think the baseball tops are really cute and even though I'm not a bit fan of mesh there is something about the mesh maxi dress that caught my eye..

Baseball Top £40
Black mesh dress, £50
Here are a few other pieces from the collection so let me know what you think...

Red G4Life Jumper, £35

Black Cropped Jumper, £35

Camouflage Vest, £35

High-shine Shorts, £40

Striped Maxi Dress, £60 (btw this has a hood..)

Mono Print Leggings, £25

Oversized Striped T-shirt, £30
